Swedish Massage

The use of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is done by rubbing the muscles with long continuous strokes in the direction of the heart thereby returning the blood to the heart. Swedish massage is increases the level of oxygen in the blood, decreases muscle toxins, and improves circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper massage releases pressure is beneficial in releasing constant muscle tension. The target is the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).

Trigger Point Massage

A trigger point is a tight area within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. Trigger Point Therapy is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release.

Integrative Massage

Integrative massage therapy is a treatment that involves the integration of therapy techniques from a number of different modalities including massage, somatic therapy and bodywork techniques. Some of the other techniques are touch therapy, psychotherapy, movement re-patterning, stress management, reflective listening, hypnotherapy, and energy work approaches.

            Reflexology

Reflexology is the application of appropriate pressure to specific points and areas on the feet, hands, or ears. Reflexologists believe that these reflex points correspond to different body organs and systems, and that pressing them has a beneficial effect on the person's health.  Although reflexology is not used to diagnose or cure health disorders, millions of people around the world use it to complement other treatments when addressing conditions like anxiety, asthma, cancer treatment, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, headaches, kidney function, PMS, and sinusitis.

Tui Na Massage

The term tui na (pronounced "twee naw"), which literally means "pinch and pull," refers to a wide range of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapeutic massage and body work. Tui na is not generally used for pleasure and relaxation, but rather as a treatment to address specific patterns of disharmony. As such, practitioners use it for many of the same reasons and according to the same principles as acupuncture. Like acupuncture, TCM uses tui na to harmonize yin and yang in the body by manipulating the Qi in the acupuncture channels.  Tui na includes what is popularly known as "acupressure," where practitioners use finger pressure instead of needles to stimulate the acupuncture points.
